Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint has made his Instagram debut by sharing a snap of his baby.

The actor, 32, took to the social media platform on Tuesday to upload a cute photo of himself cuddling his little tot.

He also used the opportunity to reveal the unusual moniker that he and partner Georgia Groome decided to give their bundle of joy.

Rupert – best known for playing Ron Weasley in the magic franchise – told in the caption of the snap that he decided to join the photo-sharing app so that he could introduce his fans to the new addition.

He penned: “Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.”

The star, who has already gained one million followers on Instagram, welcomed his first child in May.

A statement from the couple’s publicist confirmed the happy news at the time, saying: “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl.

“We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time.”

Rupert and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star Georgia, 28, have been together since 2011 and shared that they were expecting a child just a month before Wednesday’s arrival.

Red-headed Rupert had spoken of his hopes to start a family soon when he turned 30.

He said: “Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds.

“I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens.

“I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron?

“It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”
