East Lancashire hospitals record another 8 Covid related deaths as countys total jumps by 21 – Lancashire Telegraph

Another 21 people have died with Covid-19 at hospitals across the county, with East Lancashire facilities registering almost half of those deaths.

Eight of the 21 fatalities were recorded at hospitals within East Lancashire, taking the total number of deaths at facilities managed by the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust to 361.

Five more people died at facilities within the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which includes the Royal Preston Hospital, taking the death toll there to 341.

Four more deaths were registered at units within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay, taking the tally at facilities managed by this trust to 262.

Three more deaths were recorded at hospitals in Blackpool, meaning 360 people have died with Covid at facilities in that region.

And one more person is said to have died with Covid-19 recorded on their death certificate at a hospital within Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Trust.

The total number of people to have died with Covid-19 at hospitals across Lancashire since the start of the pandemic is now sitting at 1,542.
