Man City sent ‘£200m’ response to rumours
Aston Villa fans have been reacting to reports that Manchester City are keen on making a double transfer swoop for Douglas Luiz and Jack Grealish.
The Daily Star claimed on Sunday that Grealish is at the top of City’s list of transfer targets ahead of the January window while Douglas is also wanted.
Grealish was heavily linked with a move to City’s local rivals Manchester United in the summer but opted to stay at Villa, signing a new contract with his boyhood club.
It was reported over the summer that Villa had put an £80 million price tag on Grealish to try and ward off potential suitors.
Roy Keane slams Villa star
Roy Keane has questioned why Villa defender Tyrone Mings didn’t jump when defending a free-kick for England in the 2-0 Nations League defeat to Belgium on Sunday night.
Mings lined up ready to block Dries Mertens’ set-piece in the 24th minute of the game in Leuven, but the Napoli forward curled a fine effort past Jordan Pickford to score Belgium’s second.
Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans scored 14 minutes earlier to put Roberto Martinez’s side ahead and Mertens’ goal ended England’s hopes of qualifying for the Nations League finals next year.
Mertens’ strike was an inch-perfect effort that flew over Eric Dier and Declan Rice and Manchester United legend Keane has reserved criticism for Mings who did not jump.

What Villa fans have said about Wilshere
Jack Wilshere continues to be linked with a move to Villa over a month after his exit from West Ham United.
The former Arsenal midfielder departed the Hammers two years into a three-year deal he signed in 2018 when Mikel Arteta’s side agreed to let him leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.
Wilshere, whose career has been dogged by persistent injury problems, managed just two Premier League starts last season with a groin injury limiting his participation for David Moyes’ side.
The 28 year-old is now on the hunt for a new club and he was said to be in advanced talks with Rangers last month while there was talk that a move to the MLS club could be in the offing.
Kane’s Grealish comments will make Levy wince
Harry Kane has explained why he loves playing for England alongside man-of-the-moment Grealish.
Grealish, 25, started his first competitive game for England in Sunday night’s 2-0 defeat to Belgium and was the stand-out player in a disappointing Three Lions performance.
The national media have waxed lyrical about the Villa captain this morning and several of the game’s leading pundits have also been full of praise.
Ashley Cole has compared Grealish to Real Madrid superstar Eden Hazard, while Jamie Redknapp has likened him to legendary England midfielder Paul Gascoigne.
